Director, Screenwriter, Producer
Emilia holds an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Miami. Born and raised in Chile, she developed her career in film and television in Venezuela. She wrote, produced and directed award-winning shorts, including Clay and Shadows and Between the Lines, and directed primetime soap operas and episodics for RCTV, one of the largest broadcast TV networks in Venezuela.
She founded Andromeda Productions in 1992 in Venezuela, creating corporate and educational films, documentaries about social issues as Síntoma: Madre-Niña and biographical series like Perfiles en el Tiempo. In 2000 Andromeda Productions opened operations in USA, producing corporate videos, commercials, documentaries and Films.
Emilia produced, wrote and directed in Miami her short Red Bird, sponsored by Sony, Kodak, Cineworks, and the City of Miami and Miami-Dade Film Offices, among others. The film received several awards, including Crystal Reel for Direction, Music, Lead Actor, Photography and Production Design. Emilia is the president of Andromeda Productions.
